The Loudoun Career Fire Fighters Association Thursday released its endorsements for local elections, with three races missing from the list.

The association didn’t endorse candidates in the Broad Run and Leesburg districts as well as the county sheriff’s race.

Dillon Huss, vice president of IAFF Local 3756, said the association did not receive responses from two districts and several candidates, “either due to clerical errors or apathy.”

Huss said the association follows the guidelines of the Police Benevolent Association in its questionnaires to candidates because “we share a lot of the same challenges protecting and serving the citizens of Loudoun County,”

In the Loudoun sheriff’s race, Huss said the association took a similar approach, choosing not to endorse a candidate because the Police Benevolent Association “share the same public safety concerns as we do.”

“Our membership does not believe we need to endorse any candidate running for sheriff nor would we go against what our fellow sheriff’s union supports,” Huss said.

The following were endorsed by the Loudoun Career Fire Fighters Association:

Chairman: Phyllis Randall (D)
Algonkian District: Suzanne M. Volpe (R)
Ashburn District: Mike Turner (D)
Blue Ridge District: Tony Buffington Jr. (R)
Catoctin District: Geary Higgins (R)
Dulles District: Matt Letourneau (R)
Sterling District: Koran T. Saines (D)
